Over this past year, I have been focused on our camping kitchens, sometimes referred to as a "chuck box" or as we call them, a Grub Box. The intent of these boxes, constructed of wood, are to help consolidate your kitchen equipment, tools, and supplies while camping and also offering a work surface. The possibilities of a Grub Box are endless, meaning no two chuck boxes end up being exactly the same.
Based on inputs from prior clients and prospective clients, I have been rethinking the designs with the goal of finding the best mix of form, function, and value. I consulted with my son, a professional woodworker, on exploring more creative designs. I also tested using different materials to improve durability while decreasing cost of production. Our favorite designs were taken on several camping trips this past year for field testing. As a result, I am even more of a believer in these chuck boxes.
Keep in mind these boxes can be designed and built according to your specifications based on the size of your vehicle or other concerns. The smaller ones will fit into the back of the smallest cars. If you have the space, we can make a larger sized one for you. Even if you drive a bus camper with a built in kitchen, the Grub Box is a great option for those times you don't want to cook from inside your camper.
We will keep working on these Grub Boxes to incorporate more features and testing in the field. In the meantime, take a look at some of the versions of the Grub Box we have produced and let us know if we can build one for you.
